Education

I am a junior German major in the Honors Program at Butler University. I hope to add minors in French and Spanish as well. I started my college career as a pharmacy major, which soon morphed into pharmacy and German double-major by the spring semester of my freshman year. After almost two years of indecision, I finally chose to follow my academic passion over safe career path that was making me miserable. I am now thrilled to be studying abroad in Tuebingen, Germany this coming fall and spring! Instead of a PharmD, I am working towards earning a PhD in German Studies after I finish my undergraduate work.

Experience

I have some prior experience tutoring in areas such as German, elementary and secondary-level math, and music. I want to be a tutor, because it allows me to share my love of learning with others. I scored 5s on the AP English Language and AP German exams and 4s on AP Literature and AP Chemistry. Relevant college coursework: calculus I, gen chem, German for Writing, 20th Century German Lit, German film, and The Age of Goethe. I have given two Undergraduate Research Conference presentations based off of my own independent research in my German studies.

Hobbies

I have been playing the trumpet for over nine years now, both in school and in my free time. Music has always been a big part of my life and always will be. I took even piano lessons up through my freshman year of high school. When I am not pursuing my musical pastimes, I often be found outside with my two dogs Addie and Luna. While I am a self-proclaimed dog person, I am also quite fond of cats. Sadly, both of my parents are allergic, so I will have to stick to catsitting for friends when they are on vacation. On top of all that, I am a voracious reader. I will read just about anything at least once. My favorite section of any bookstore is the bargain bins.
